Smile =)

So on Monday we went to the Picture People and got some pictures taken of Thomas because we had a coupon for a free package. I was a little nervous of how he would do, but he was such a good boy! It was so hard to choose which pictures to get. By next week all the pictures should be online so anyone who wants to (ie. grandparents) can order prints if they would like. I definitely plan on getting some more. Especially of one with Nathan holding him. I scanned the ones that we came home with, although the quality does not show up very well, but you get the idea.

Thomas is doing well with his tummy time. I thought he was going to roll over yesterday, but he didn't quite make it. Sadie is working on her tummy time as well, you can see from this picture.
And this picture shows what happens after Thomas wakes up for the 3rd time at night and mommy brings him to bed: Nathan moves out to the guest bed.
Apparently, Thomas likes to lay in our bed and hit daddy in the face! I was unaware of this, probably because I go right back to sleep, but Nathan filled me in the other day. I am hoping that Thomas will go back to sleeping well at night. Ever since his shots last week, he has been up at least 3 times a night. Last night however, we got a good stretch out of him, so things are starting to look up again. Well, the little guys nap is over, so back to the grind!

Go Niners!

Thomas got to watch the game in style this week. Thanks to Grammy B he now has 2 niners outfits, a hat, booties and a bib! Unfortunately, it didn't help them win, but there is always next week. The outfit almost made it the whole day too.

New Video

If you look to the right of the page, there is a list of all Thomas' videos with a new one on top!

New Pictures

Just stopping by to put up some new pictures of the little guy. I will be adding a new video probably later today, so stay tuned!

Tummy time did not start off on a good note yesterday, although he was doing very well with lifting his head up and looking around. He looked poised and ready to crawl!
Things got better after the first minute. Then he realized what a good job he was doing and was a happy little guy.
Then daddy came home and it was time to give mommy a break. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to fix his crazy eyes in this picture, but he really was having a good time!
You can see in this picture that he was having fun jumping around and smiling and talking telling dad all about his day.
This morning he was getting cranky and I thought that he was hungry, but when I tried to feed him he didn't want to eat and just kept sticking his hands in his mouth. Then I set him in his chair with his monkey blanket and he was all smiles! He grabbed his blanket and sucked on it for a second and then he was out. I should have known, all he wanted was his blankie.

Thomas ♥s his Monkey Blanket

I have a feeling that this blanket will be around for years to come, if it lasts that long! He loves
to chew on his monkey blanket. Although it came in a 4 pack, he seems to have developed more of a liking for this one. He will entangle himself in it and chew on it every chance he gets!
We went in for Thomas' 2 month check up on Monday. He is growing up to be a big boy! He's up to 12lbs 8.2oz and 23 3/4 inches. The nurse even commented on how strong he is. I told her he likes to exercise his legs ALL day long. I think pretty much anytime he is awake he is kicking those legs, in the bouncer...on the playmat...in the crib...in the tub... Nathan thinks he's going to be a runner and I'm betting on him being a swimmer. We shall see.

Somebody is 2 Months Old Today!

Today is officially Thomas' 2 month birthday! So of course we had to take some pictures with his 2 month sticker. He was in a very good mood, if you can't tell. He must be just as excited as I am! We started off last night with a 6 hour stretch of sleep. We don't need to talk about the stretches after that, but I was impressed with the 6. I'm hoping we can continue the trend. We have started a little bedtime routine in the last few days. Daddy comes home and says hi for a bit and then we take a bath, get lotion and pjs and wrapped up and then it's time to eat and go to bed. I think he is picking up on this. The first night it took about an hour, last night it took about 20 mins and he was out at 7:45pm. Keep your fingers crossed!

I can't believe he's already 2 months old. Time sure has flown by. He is turning into quite the little man. And quite the happy one at that. I am so grateful that he is in such good spirits almost all the time. It is very helpful on a morning where I have gotten little sleep, to wake up and have him smiling and giggling and having a grand 'ol time. I can only image what he will be like when we come out to visit everyone.
The weather is starting to get colder here everyday. It's only a matter of time before it will be snowing again. I can't wait to get him all bundled up in a snow suit to go out and play. And don't worry, I will make sure we take lots of pictures!

Mommy's Day Out

Sunday = Mommy's Day. That is what I have decided. This past Sunday was the first official Mommy's Day. Elise was here visiting and got us tickets to go see the Red Sox play at Fenway. We headed out to the city early to check out a store that she used to work for. Then we had lunch and decided to head over to Harvard, so we could see how the smart kids do it. We walked around a small section of the campus and tried to find a sign that said Harvard so we could take a picture, but had no such luck. So on our way to get a beer at a nearby pub, she decided a picture with the Harvard bookstore in the background would have to suffice. Then we were off to the ballgame. We got there a little late since we had some trouble navigating the subway system. Then we had to leave early to make sure we were able to catch the train home! But we had a great time while we were there. It was cool to check out the oldest baseball stadium and the crowd was amazing. The stadium was full and at one point "the wave" was done four times in a row. On our way out, we had someone take a picture of us behind home plate. Mommy Day was a success! And Nathan and Thomas had fun watching football together.

Capt. Thomas

Yesterday Elise, Thomas and I ventured to the great town of Salem, Massachusetts to see the Witch Museum and any other fun things we could find to do there. Thomas was quite the trooper as we drug him around and did many photo ops.

This was taken when Thomas was a little cranky, so mommy had to hold him and try to pose in the guillotine. Not as fun as it looks!

Here Thomas posed with Capt. Thomas Dean Jr. who was a merchant and inspector of Customs.

The Infamous Blue Striped Shirt

As some of you may know, most of Nathan's going out wardrobe contains striped polo shirts. The same striped polo shirts that he has had since I met him 6 years ago! Anyways, Elise pointed out to me, while looking at the photos of Thomas in his red striped outfit, that he looked just like Nathan, all he needed was a blue striped one. So of course, I decided that today he would wear his blue striped outfit and I would dig out pictures of Nathan in his infamous blue striped shirts. Thomas' outfit is not a polo shirt, but I think it's good enough.

Here of course if the handsome little guy.

Here are Nathan and I in 2004 with one of his blue striped shirts.

And here we are in Vegas in 2007, in another of his blue striped shirts.
Maybe one of these days I can get Nathan to wear his blue striped shirt so they can take a new picture together!

The Miracle Blanket

It may not be "The Miracle Blanket", but I think that it has become ours. As you have seen in my previous post, Thomas does not like blankets on him when he is awake, so normally I wait until he is asleep and then gently lay a blanket across him. Well, a few days ago we headed to Target to get some swaddling blankets to help the little guy sleep better in his crib (we will get to that in a minute). We got a four pack of the Aden & Anais swaddling blankets that had gotten really good reviews. We started off with the monkey blanket, (there's also a lion, elephant and plain one) and I didn't even have to wait until he was asleep to put it on him! He cuddled with it as he was on his way to dreamland and didn't even try to kick it off. Although, he did make his signature move and make sure he got a foot out. As I write this, he is cuddled up with his lion blanket taking a nap. So not only do they work for swaddling him at night, but he likes to cuddle with them during the day too.

On to the crib. We decided to start moving him into his crib over the last week. He never really took to his cradle, unfortunately, and has spent most nights starting out in his bouncy and then halfway through moving into our bed. That would be all fine and dandy except that we only have a queen size bed and of course I am the one that has to share my side of the bed with him. Yes he is little, but he likes to cuddle up right in the nook of my armpit and slowly inch me off the side of the bed. So, we decided that it was time to make the transition! We have had some good nights, and we have had some not so good nights. Last night was a very good night! So hopefully it will continue to get better. Of course, by the time it gets to be perfect, we will take a cross-country trip to California and all hell will break loose!

Here are a couple more pictures for your enjoyment!

And yes, I know that his hand looks HUGE in this picture!

Milestone #1

So in the last week, Thomas has perfected the spit up. He likes to do it only when I am holding him, never when Nathan has him and he makes sure he always gets in down my shirt. Not exactly a milestone that I was looking forward to!

Today we headed out to the local lake to meet some other moms and kids from the area. As we were heading out the door, running a little behind, I decided that I knew where we were going and didn't need to look it up. Needless to say, we were VERY late because I in fact, did not know where we were going and got horribly lost. However, another mom only got there a few minutes before us, so as everyone else packed up shortly after our arrival, we got to talk with Cara and her 3 month old little guy. It was nice to get out and meet some moms and hopefully next time I won't get lost and we will be able to get to know more moms and kids.

Here is video that Nathan took (you can tell because he doesn't talk to Thomas much when he videos him). He had a lot to say that morning which meant that after we dropped Dad off at the train in the morning, there was no going back to sleep after!

I have also included some pictures of my handsome little man. One with a nice blank stare. And one with his "I'm Mad!" pouty lip. I love his little pouty lip, it's so cute!
